Dornan is recruiting for a Piping Engineer to work as part of the team on our datacentre in the beautiful Netherlands.

Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager, the Piping and Mechanical BIM Lead will be responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of allocated project(s) or sub part of BIM projects. In addition to this, the successful candidate will liaise and coordinate with Dornan Engineers, Design Teams, and third-party contractors to ensure the work is delivered in an efficient manner and with collaboration from all teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead M&E Coordinator for industrial and commercial projects, liaising, collaborating and coordinating with the site team.
  • Developing models for prefabrication modules / skids.
  • Checking models for constructability and maintenance.
  • Checking GA drawings for design compliance.
  • Generation and checking of Fabrication Packs, GA’s & Isometrics.
  • Produce weekly Updates of Navisworks Model and issue Clash Detection Reports.
  • Work with 3rd Party Contractors and designers to resolve Issues.
  • Co-ordinating with project site supervision and engineering team.
  • Implementing best installation practices for piping and detailing prefabrication opportunities.
  • Providing QA/QC on models and drawings.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar piping design role.
  • Understanding the principles of piping good routing practices, spatial awareness, requirements for supports and accessibility for construction and maintenance.
