Dornan are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Manager to work on a Hyperscale Data Centre in Belgium.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Have a full understanding of current corporate policies, procedures, tools, processes and templates.
- Have a full understanding of the assigned project specific requirements relating to project controls, specifically earned value management (EVM), planning, scheduling, progress tracking, document control, change management, risk management invoicing, but also related aspects such commercial requirements, invoicing and related technical matters.
- Apply and maintain on the project the agreed project controls strategy and reporting requirements, aligned with project specific and corporate procedures. Specially ensure that weekly fortnightly and monthly reports are prepared, checked and issued timeously.
- Apply and maintain on the project the agreed project controls tools, processes and templates for project controls related status reports, aligned with project specific and corporate procedures.
- Lead and ensure the effective collation of data and information, and the verification of the accuracy thereof to be used as the primary input to project control reporting.
- Attend formal and informal project meeting and reviews with all stakeholders, including internal to Dornan, Clients, Suppliers, Service Providers and Subcontractors.
- Prepare or implement appropriate reporting and effectively communicate in order to ensure that Dornan Project Team is aware of the current project status, immediate and near-term critical milestones, activities on the critical and near critical path as well as missed activities that materially affect the project status by interfacing continuously with Planning.
- Ensure project execution is within forecasted cash flow and agreed strategy, and actively monitor to ensure Project Manager is aware of the cash position as well as forecasted cash flow against the baseline cash flow plan by interfacing continuously with Commercial.
- Utilize professional experience to check, monitor and analyse project status, specifically physical progress, costs to date, forecasts and impact of changes on the project. Understand trends, adjust forecasts accordingly with input from Planning and Commercial and highlight concerns and issues and advise of appropriate mitigation actions as necessary.
- Analyse and report on complex situations and potential opportunities/risks of variations to scope, schedule and costs.
- Identify and flag all changes or potential changes to the project (scope, schedule cost) to the Commercial Lead, and support and drive the development of associated claims as may be necessary with support from Planning and Commercial and as directed by the Project Manager.
- Undertake or support periodic project risk assessments, specifically with regard to cost and schedule (deterministic or probabilistic as may be required) with input from Planning and Commercial.
- Maintain good relations and facilitate exchange of information between client and Dornan, as well as internally to assure alignment of strategic objectives.
- Be an active member in the cross-functional project team, liaising with Planning, Commercial Engineering, Procurement, Operations, and other Functions; identify potential areas of concern and resolve them before they become issues.
- Implement the progressive collection and maintenance of statistical data of the assigned project and analyse such data to develop appropriate performance, cost and schedule metrics.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement. Highlight such matters to Senior Management with proposals for improvements.
- Advise management of significant issues relating to project performance, variances and trends on projects.
- Ensure that staff executes the project controls and document control function in accordance with applicable project and corporate procedures through internal checks as well as technical audits when required to ensure that the assigned project is provided with and supported by the application of the correct tools and templates.
- Be familiar with project controls and related data analysis software applications and manage the optimization of their use in project and document control functions.
- Work in a self-motivated and autonomous manner.
- Undertake tasks as directed by Dornan Management.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- At least 7 years’ experience directly relating to project management or project controls.
- Management and leadership expertise (preferably with experience in managing a group)
- Knowledge of work-flows and phases relating to engineering, procurement and construction.
- Working knowledge and understanding of contract law and commercial/contracts management in construction.

- Communicate, engage and build rapport with all stakeholders, including Dornan, Clients, Suppliers, Service Providers and Subcontractors.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing needs, easily identify changes, issues and risks and identify and develop simple solutions to identified problems.
- Motivate guide and support staff and project team members.
- Understand the entirety of the project at a macro level including the execution issues, set up the necessary reporting structure to bring about order and apply these tools to report also at the highest level of detail necessary.
- Report writing and presentation skills to convey project status, issues, concerns, opportunities and risks.
- Data analysis skills to distil essential issues out of large data sets and formulate applicable graphics to clearly convey the issues.
